Man Utd Transfers: 5 Awesome Signings To Kill Off The Title Race

5. Julio Cesar

julio cesar Julio Cesar won the Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year award in two consecutive seasons between 2008 and 2010, and was also named UEFA Club Goalkeeper of the Year for 2009/10. But he became a victim of Inter Milan's financial crisis and was sold so that the club could be rid of his wage bill. He rather surprisingly ended up at the Premier League's now bottom side Queens Park Rangers last summer, but they too are struggling to handle his wage bill and may also be tempted to sell him on. The decline in Cesar's career is a cruel one - he is a world class goalkeeper, and having won the Champions League in 2010, deserves to be plying his trade at a top European club rather than at one who may end up in the Championship in less than five months. Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly lining up a move to rescue the Brazilian's career as a replacement for David de Gea, of whom Ferguson is apparently losing confidence in after a string of blunders such as the one against Tottenham at White Hart Lane last weekend.
