Man Utd Transfers: 5 MUST BUY Signings To Rebuild Red Devils

5. Fabio Coentrao

The left back berth is certainly an area that Moyes has dedicated lots of attention to €“ so far without success. Portugal's Coentrao almost joined United on loan on transfer deadline day this past summer, but the deal was left too late to be completed. Jorge Mendes, the player's agent, has indicated Coentrao would be keen on that bid being revived €“ according to the Sunday Telegraph. Real Madrid do not want to lose him, but he is not getting any football at the Bernabeu as he has struggled with injury ahead of the World Cup. Moyes has also been linked with taking Leighton Baines from former club Everton or Southampton's talented youngster Luke Shaw to the Red Devils. Either of that pair or Coentrao would all make admirable signings. All are attacking fullbacks and none more so than Coentrao, who shot to prominence with his marauding displays at the last World Cup. He needs games in the next five months to ensure he goes to the next one. Moyes may not been keen on short-term fixes, but he can surely appreciate that the pacy quality of Coentrao would supplement attacks down the left.
