Man Utd Transfers: 6 Players United Still Need To Get Rid Of Today

There's still time to cut some of the deadwood.

It hasn't exactly been the biggest transfer window for Manchester United: the biggest news so far has been the removal of perceived toxic influence Victor Valdes on loan to Standard Liege. The lack of incoming players has been a frustration, particularly in light of the criticisms of United's tactics and current playing style, and it's hard not to think that there was more business to be done this winter. The reality is that United's squad simply isn't good enough or strong enough in depth to have made a title challenge a real possibility, but there are still players currently on the books who Louis Van Gaal should still be looking to move on, if only to change things up. Even with the relatively small squad (not taking into account younger players and fringe players), the Red Devils' manager should be working on deals to either get these players off the payroll entirely or at least to send them out on loan for the good of their development and the club. Right now it looks like the clock would beat any business, but stranger things have happened on transfer deadline day, as Jim White is always so desperate to convince us all. So who should be out the door?

6. Adnan Januzaj

There's no doubting that Adnan Januzaj could be a phenomenally gifted player: on his day he is capable of taking players on with ease and both scoring and creating goals, it's just that his day doesn't seem to come often enough. The attacker has only just returned from a mostly pointless loan at Borussia Dortmund, where his attitude was questioned and you have to wonder whether he has a long term future under Van Gaal. His outstanding performances under David Moyes are now a distant memory and he probably needs to be sent out on loan to a lower Premier League team where he could prove that his attitude and his ability are both suited to the specific challenges of top flight English football.
