The 2017-18 season was a strange one for Manchester United. The club didn't actually win a single trophy, which would appear to be a failure compared to the Europa League and League Cup double won by the Red Devils the season prior. However, despite a lack of titles, the Old Trafford outfit did seem to make some noticeable progress under José Mourinho.
Now, the club is gearing up for a new season, with fans and players alike eager to see United return to the glory days and make a real challenge for the prize they crave most of all: the Premier League trophy. It'll be a real challenge, with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool looking very strong, but Mourinho has already set about improving his squad.
As new players come in, older players have to move out, and it's easy to identify a few Manchester United footballers who should probably be thinking of moving on. Some of them are clearly not in Mourinho's plans, others have been openly criticised by the manager, and all of them could be getting more game time and playing more prominent roles elsewhere.
