Man Utd Transfers: 5 Players Louis Van Gaal Needs To Get Rid Of Today

More misfiring stars could yet follow Adnan Januzaj out of Old Trafford.

Transfer Deadline Day is here and for the next few hours there will be an inundation of flimsy transfer speculation, blue, white and red ticker bars and an obstreperous Jim White. Luckily for Manchester United fans, David de Gea's name may not be mentioned by the aforementioned three as much as once imagined with the news that his proposed move to Real Madrid has collapsed due to 'paperwork issues' (wink, wink). What a relief. The Red Devils now have a keeper who desperately wants to leave the club (although his stance may swiftly change by tomorrow morning) and who will undoubtedly sign for the Spanish giants in January. On and off the field, Louis van Gaal is doing his best to prove that Man United are no longer one of the biggest clubs in the world and after signing Monaco's Anthony Martial for somewhere between £36-£50 million, their deadline day incoming activity is set to be a quiet one. The somewhat surprising transfer of Adnan Januzaj to Dortmund on loan has opened the Dutch boss up to considerable criticism as the Belgian midfielder at least offered some much-needed attacking zest to Manchester United frontline. If van Gaal was looking to offload some players before the transfer deadline tonight then here is some misfiring stars that he should have considered rather than the 20-year-old winger.
