Man Utd's plans to keep ahold of long-serving wideman Ashley Young might not be as straight-forward as they'd hope. The veteran - who has been handed the captaincy at Old Trafford recently - is coming to the end of his current contract and the club had reportedly been looking to extend his deal.

However, The Sun are now reporting that Inter Milan have joined fellow Serie A side Roma in expressing an interest in bringing Young to Italy after Jose Mourinho left United. With Young free to negotiate a pre-contract now, Inter are said to be keen to throw a spanner in the works.

The Sun do say that Young would ideally prefer to stay at Old Trafford and there's a palpable sense of renewed confidence at the club now that Mourinho's reign is over, but time will tell.

One deal that doesn't look like it's happening is Mesut Ozil's mooted move to Old Trafford. The Red Devils had been installed as the bookies favourites to sign the German international, who has fallen out of favourite at Arsenal, but ESPN are suggesting that the fhe has chosen to remain at the Emirates and fight for his place.
