Man Utd Transfers: Inter Milan Want Anthony Martial

Could the Frenchman be used as a make-weight for Perisic?

Inter Milan are interested in bringing Manchester United's Anthony Martial to Italy, according to the player's cousin (via TeamTalk).

The Italians have been linked with a swoop for the France forward, who joined United from Monaco two years ago, amid rumours that the Red Devils' own move for Ivan Perisic could be close to collapse.

It was reported earlier in the week that the Croatian - an Inter player since 2015 - was on the verge of moving to England after a protracted negotiation period, but talks now appear to have broken down again.

And the Serie A side are now seeking to broker a deal that would take one of United's most expensive ever acquisitions the other way, possibly on a loan basis.

Martial's cousin, a journalist in France, wrote on Twitter: "I can confirm Inter’s interest in Anthony."

The Frenchman played a bit-part role in Jose Mourinho's maiden Old Trafford campaign last year, having been overlooked for his favoured centre-forward spot following the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The £75m signing of Romelu Lukaku, confirmed last week, has intensified speculation that the 21-year-old could be heading for the exit door.

But United, currently in the US on their pre-season tour, are said to be reluctant to lose Martial, whose cousin has also insisted the player's loyalties lie with his current employers.
