Man Utd Transfers: Strootman And De Jong Next For Van Gaal

Two more midfielders for United's stuttering season.

The start to the season might not have been what Man Utd fans expected when Louis Van Gaal was announced as the new manager - though on reflection there was a lot of precedent - but things might change if the Red Devils can do more business before the end of the transfer window. And despite having already spent £166m, it looks like the club might well be one of the busiest in the final hours of transfer deadline day with reports linking at least two more midfielders with moves. According to the Daily Star, former Man City midfielder Nigel De Jong will become Van Gaal's next signing after compatriot Daley Blind's move is completed, to add more bite to United's midfield. But it won't stop there, as The Telegraph suggest that talks have opened to bring Kevin Strootman to the Premier League from Roma as well. The Dutchman, who would have been a key member of Van Gaal's World Cup squad had he not been injured, is still injured, but the smart move for United would be beating other potential suitors to the box-to-box midfielder before he returns to full fitness and full ability. Would you be happy to see United bring in both De Jong and Strootman? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
