Man Utd v Arsenal - Live On Sky Sports

Manchester United welcome the league leaders to Old Trafford this Sunday afternoon (KO 4:10 pm), with Moyes' men seeking their third league victory in as many outings. There's no doubt they will be made to work very hard for victory against Arsene Wenger's high flying Arsenal. Match Preview Following a disappointing mid-week draw away to Sociedad, United's attentions turn back to the task of making up lost ground in the league. Moyes will have been happy with the way results went last weekend, as Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all dropped points, whilst United produced a confident display to dispatch a struggling Fulham. 3 goals in a devastating 13 minute first half spell ensured that United looked, for the first time this season, something akin to their old selves. Contrast that to Arsenal who, with 10 games played, are looking anything but their team of recent years. The intricate passing and crowd pleasing football remains but Wenger's team is now brimming with goals too. Olivier Giroud has shaken off the debut season blues and Mesut Ozil is living up to the hype and price tag, without even being Arsenal's best midfielder. Aaron Ramsey has been something of a revelation this season, scoring goals for fun and turning in man of the match performances week after week. His goal against Dortmund in mid-week helped Arsenal to a famous win in Germany and in doing so Wenger's team succeeded where all other English teams had failed. However, as Wayne Rooney pointed out earlier this week, the electrifying form being displayed by Arsenal at this stage in the season is nothing new. Talk of title aspirations are far too premature for a side which tend to fade in the latter half of the campaign. There's no doubt that Sunday's game will be a distant cry from the 8-2 thrashing which United handed down to their rivals a couple of seasons ago. The incentive for Arsenal to win the game? A potentially unassailable 11 point lead over the current champions. The incentive for United? The chance to close the gap on Arsenal to 5 points, something which wouldn't reflect how the two teams have performed so far this season. Sunday's game will be season defining and truly is the first, big 6 pointer between the top teams. No doubt it will end 0-0. Media Image LtdKey Stats Robin van Persie took just 3 minutes to score in this fixture last season and ensured that he scored home and away against his former club. A hat trick for Wayne Rooney would take him above Thierry Henry as the highest scoring player in this fixture, in the Premier League era. Aaron Ramsey has 6 goals in the Premier League this season, already more than in any other season for the club.
