Man Utd vs Fulham - Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups

Team News

Ashley Young (knee injury), Jonny Evans (hamstring) definitely miss out for United, but Nani, Anderson and Shinji Kagawa could play after their recent returns from injury. For Fulham, winger Kieran Richardson will miss out with the calf injury he picked up last week. Mahamadou Diarra (knee) and winger Kerim Frei (pelvis) are still sidelined.

Match Preview

Manchester United play host to Fulham at the Theatre of Dreams in the Saturday late kick off. This promises to be an intriguing clash between two sides that can score goals aplenty, but are also prone to conceding at any time. Sir Alex won€™t be taking this lightly as his side haven€™t won the FA Cup since 2004 and giving what happened when the sides met in the Premier League in August, I€™d expect a strong United line up. Wayne Rooney needs game time to rediscover his best form and this is the perfect opportunity for him to impress against a Fulham side who look very suspect at the back this year. Javier Hernandez may well start as he looks to continue his fine form this season, with the likes of Anderson and Nani likely to get valuable minutes under the belt also. Fulham can be fantastic to watch at times, with ex-red Dimitar Berbatov and bargain find Bryan Ruiz looking like a blossoming partnership. Berbatov will certainly want to get one over on his old employers, whom he left with a small degree of hostility. The Cottagers have experience and quality throughout the team, and expect players like Kacaniklic and Steve Sidwell to provide a stern test for the reds as they look to progress to the quarter-finals. Both teams required replays in the last round, with Manchester United a tad fortunate in the first leg against Fulham neighbours West Ham, but this is a different game and the Red Devils should be too strong for Martin Jol€™s side. Fulham have only one win in their last six Premier League outings and it will take some performance to top a United team that are nothing short of ruthless, especially at Old Trafford. If things turn tough for Sir Alex never fear, because the Dutch maestro Robin Van Persie is only a substitution away.
