Monaco Join Liverpool And Tottenham In Hunt For Newcastle Midfielder

The Principality club are the latest big-name side credited with an interest in Kemen.

Olivier Kemen continues to attract interest from all over Europe - and Monaco are the latest big-name club linked with a move for the Newcastle United midfielder. Foot Mercato claim that the Principality club are monitoring the 19-year-old's situation on Tyneside, with Kemen having yet to make a single first-team appearance for Magpies. Despite this, Kemen has been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan this summer. The midfielder arrived on Tyneside from Metz two years ago and he has failed to break into the first-team picture to date, yet L€™Equipe claimed last month that he had entered into negotiations with Italian giants Milan. Interestingly, Liverpool have also been credited with a move for Newcastle€™s France international midfielder Moussa Sissoko in recent months, although those claims have been denied. Yet it is the general reported interest in Kemen that is perhaps more interesting considering the youngster€™s lack of first-team football. In fact, Kemen asked John Carver for a loan move in January but was denied and is becoming frustrated with life on Tyneside. Kemen - who has performed well in 26 appearances for the Magpies€™ Under-21 side, scoring three times - also went to Greece to captain France in the UEFA Under-19 Championship, where he impressed. Juventus forward Kingsley Coman was also in the squad, as was Atletico Madrid€™s exciting youngster Lucas Hernandez. Spurs and Liverpool could well firm up their tentative interest in a player who has yet to experience first-team Premier League football - although Milan and Monaco appear the current favourites for his signature.
