Newcastle 0-2 Man City - 5 Things We Learned

5. Joe Hart's Back

A clean sheet away from home will have done Joe Hart the world of good and Manuel Pellegrini must be delighted with the manner in which the England shot stopper kept Newcastle at bay. He pulled off a string of fine saves, notably from Cabaye and Remy, to keep the score at 1-0 at a crucial stage of the game. His extended absence from the team has been a success and he looks to be reinvigorated. After Pantilimon's recent run in the team, Hart is in no doubt that there is competition for the number one jersey and this appears to have had a positive effect on his game. England manager Roy Hodgson has a lot to thank Pellegrini for, the Chilean's handling of the goalkeeping situation has been first rate. With City set to face Cardiff in the next league outing Hart will be looking to build on a good performance today and turn in another clean sheet.
