Newcastle: 10 Craziest Players Ever To Wear Black & White

9. Daniel Cordone

Players with animal nicknames are generally ones to watch when it comes to their temperament (though Francis "The Fox In The Box" Jeffers probably doesn't count,) and the Argentinian forward, nickname The Wolf definitely qualifies. Cordone was signed on a loan deal for around £500k, and never looked like the kind of fella you'd like to meet in a dark alley (though the presence of Clarence Acuna in the same squad made him seem less worrying) and he achieved very little at Newcastle, aside from the most impressive technical cross volley most at St. James' will ever have seen. But after leaving Newcastle Cordone went on to fail multiple drugs tests, including one for marijuana, which is an odd thing to ban a player for, because surely they're making playing more difficult for themselves in the first place, and not seeking to gain unfair advantage.
