Newcastle: 10 Major Mistakes Pardew Has Made In 2014

Looking back at the worst year in modern NUFC history.

On the back of two Premier League victories, things are finally looking up a bit for Newcastle, and the more optimistic of Toon fans will no doubt be hoping that this can be the start of the kind of run that turned the side into top 7 contenders for a brief period last season. Unfortunately for those fans, a lot has happened since that 7 win in 10 run at the end of 2013, and while many will continue to suggest that Newcastle's spectacular implosion in 2014 was all because of the sale of Yohan Cabaye, the manager has made far more individual errors that have contributed just as much. Newcastle have been a broken club in the past year, rudderless at times, playing entirely the wrong system and adopting a small club mentality that has bled into every performance at the most fundamental level. Most of those issues can be pinned on the manager, and while every Newcastle fan will hope that he can learn from the bleakest year in recent Newcastle history, it remains to be seen whether Pardew is the right man to identify and address everything that is wrong with his team. Here's hoping that the first two wins of this season will kick-start a change in the culture of the club, but for that to happen, Pardew cannot repeat any of these major mistakes.
