Newcastle: Has Alan Pardew Lost The Plot?

Probably.

Crueller Newcastle fans might suggest that Alan Pardew lost the plot a long time ago, what with dropping Ben Arfa, persisting with long ball tactics, and asking Mike Williamson to be the target for every free-kick DESPITE IT NEVER, EVER WORKING. But now, there is video evidence that the beleaguered manager might have snapped. Usually, the former West Ham boss' in-match regime involves furiously scribbling notes on his infamous white pad - presumably something about Willo being his "strongest knight" - and then failing to really change the system. But not against Villa. Against Villa, the manager took to suggesting that his players should be playing with a smile on their face. Or that they should dance. Or be a penguin... It's very hard to tell what he was attempting to achieve in all honestly... https://vine.co/v/MLT1uxMbuHx Newcastle ultimately picked up their first point of the season against a toothless Villa side despite losing Mike Williamson to a red card late in the game. Sadly, that means that Steven Taylor is going to have to play. Do you think Newcastle deserved more from their game against Villa? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
