Newcastle Chasing Sevilla Striker Carlos Bacca?

The Colombia striker has caught the attention of Newcastle manager Alan Pardew, but has a £24 million buy-out-clause.

John Walton/EMPICS SportJohn Walton/EMPICS SportNewcastle manager Alan Pardew wants to make Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca his next summer signing, according to the Mail Online. Pardew's scouts have turned in glowing reports on the Colombia international, who last season was voted the best signing of 2013-14 by Spanish tabloid Marca. Sevilla signed the 27-year-old from Club Brugge in 2013 in a £5 million deal, and the Spanish side quickly inserted a £24 million release clause in the forward's contract. Bacca impressed with his work rate and finishing last season and netted 14 La Liga goals in 35 appearances. Everton, Juventus and Barcelona have all scouted him this season and he would have featured more prominently for his country at the World Cup but for a thigh injury. Newcastle have already signed striker Siem de Jong from Ajax but want four more players - depending on sales - and another forward is understood to be a priority for the north east outfit. Loic Remy has returned to parent club Queens Park Rangers following his loan spell and Pardew is keen to bolster his attacking options, and is also looking at Alexandre Lacazette of Lyon. Lacazette scored 15 Ligue 1 goals last season, and provided three assists in an impressive season for the French club.
