Newcastle: Haris Vuckic Wants First Team Chance

High-billed prospect wants to follow Abeid up the ladder.

Having helped Newcastle's U21 side to yet another victory - this time a 5-2 thumping of Aston Villa that saw two more goals for prospect Adam Armstrong - Haris Vuckic has reiterated his desire to make it into the first team at Newcastle. With the announcement that Newcastle and Rangers would be tied together by the involvement of Mike Ashley, and the possibility of loan deals was very real, some would have been forgiven for thinking Vuckic would be first on the train to Glasgow. But he wants to work hard and see his resilience pay off with a chance to follow Mehdi Abeid away from obscurity and into the first team. https://twitter.com/VuckicHari29/status/529418062341357568 Vuckic scored the fourth of the reserves five goals against Villa, to help the young Magpies climb to within a point of leaders Arsenal in the U21 league. And while Adam Armstrong looks the most likely to break into the first team in a big way, Vuckic obviously wants to prove himself. And despite his long absence from the first team picture, Vuckic can take heart from Abeid's progress, though it probably does make sense for him to go out on loan somewhere abroad that will genuinely aid his development as Panathinaikos did for Abeid last year. Spending more time bouncing around clubs like Rotherham is helping neither him or the club. Do you think Vuckic should be given a chance to prove himself in the first team?
