Newcastle "Make £6m Bid" For A THIRD Anderlecht Player

Is Belgium the new France for NUFC?

Newcastle United have "made a £6 million offer" for a third Anderlecht player - Andy Najar - according to reports in the Honduran's native media. Diariomas.hn claim that "British media" have reported that the 5ft 7in winger could head to Tyneside this summer, although there does not seem to be any links made by the UK press to date. The Magpies have already signed both striker Aleksandar Mitrovic (£13 million) and Chancel Mbemba (£8 million) for a combined £21 million this summer from the Belgian club, with Najar potentially to follow for a further £6 million.
A reprentative of Najar is quoted as saying:
"Najar's dream is to play in the Premier League, two of his friends have already signed for Newcastle - (Anderlecht must) analyse the bids."
A 31-cap Honduran international - with four goals for his national side - the 22-year-old scored 13 goals during 92 appearances at Major League Soccer side DC United between 2010 and 2012. https://twitter.com/Sporting_AND/status/627449651600465921 Anderlecht then paid a reported £1.28 million ($2 million) in order to bring Najar to Europe in January 2013, and he has netted six goals in 50 games for the Belgians since. Sp. Anderlecht news tweeted two days ago that Najar is "versatile" - saying "he can play multiple positions". Those appear to include right-back, right-midfield, right-wing, central-midfield, left-midfield and left-wing. Najar played at both the 2012 Olympics in Britain, as well as at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and he netted during Anderlecht's 2-1 Champions League group-stage loss against Arsenal at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium last October. Speaking back in April, the Arsenal-linked winger admitted he would love to play for the Gunners one day. He said:
"I would like to go to English football and have always had a team in England which has been my dream - Arsenal. I keep that in mind. "When I was little I liked Thierry Henry and I always had this dream of reaching Arsenal."
He has claimed two Belgian Pro League titles and two Belgian Super Cups with Anderlecht - but will he soon be on Tyneside? For all the latest NUFC News, Views and Transfers make sure to follow WhatCulture.com/NUFC on Twitter and Facebook.
