Newcastle "Table Bid" For Spanish International Midfielder

United hoping to strike it lucky in the Segunda Division once again...

Several sources have reported that Newcastle United have tabled a bid of £2 million for Spanish U19 international midfielder David Concha. The Evening Chronicle also reported how the 18-year-old Racing Santander playmaker was in Newcastle last week to look around St James' Park before weighing up a move to the North East. Interest in Concha is high with the likes of Valencia and Real Betis also reportedly ready to table bids. Bids that will be relatively low due to the financial peril Los Racinguistas find themselves in at the moment. Not quite as impressive stats as those of Ayoze around a year ago, you'l have to concede... There's no getting away from that fact that Newcastle need to strengthen in the wide areas this summer. Jonas Gutierrez is set to be released despite his match winning performance against West Ham last week, while Yoan Gouffran, Remy Cabella, Gabriel Obertan and Moussa Sissoko's collective performances on the wings have been nothing short of uninspiring. Hopefully Concha will the gem that Newcastle have been waiting years for... For all the latest NUFC News, Views and Transfers make sure to follow WhatCultureNUFC on Twitter and Facebook.
