Newcastle Transfer News: 2 Foreign Signings Imminent - Funded By Cabaye Sale

Newcastle United are in the process of concluding permanent deals for two currently unknown players, according to NUFC.com. With just two weeks left to run until the summer transfer window slams shut, Magpies officials are currently overseas concluding negotiations for two new recruits. The moves will likely be funded by the sale of Yohan Cabaye to Arsenal, following the Gunner's failed £10 million bid for the French international yesterday. Cabaye was subsequently withdrawn from the squad that lost 4-0 away to Manchester City and Newcastle have told the London club to come back with £20 million if they are serious. One of the two players reportedly in the process of joining the Magpies could be Lyon's Bafétimbi Gomis. A move for the striker was on the verge of collapse recently after it came to light that the 28-year-old wanted to play in Germany, but it could be that he has since had a change of heart. Manager Alan Pardew is determined to sign another striker and could be looking to add to his forward line this summer after seeing the club's joint-top scorer last season, Papiss Cisse, carry too much of the side's goal-scoring burden. Pardew has added Loic Remy on loan from QPR but needs more firepower.
