Newcastle Transfer News: European Cup Winner's Agent Hints At Toon Move

Newcastle United could be about to spend on a big name of the European game...

Carlos Bacca could be on his way to Newcastle United after the Europa League winner is reportedly open to a move away from Sevilla. The striker, who scored two goals to lead Los Rojiblancos to a 3-2 win over Dnipro last month, has also been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur after becoming one of the leading lights in Spain. His performance in the Europa League final capped off a wonderful season for the Columbian where he scored 20 goals and created 28 chances in 37 La Liga appearances, firing Sevilla to a fifth-placed finish. However, Magpies fans shouldn't be getting their hopes up about this one as the forward is 28-years-old and has a reported £14 million price tag slapped on his head. He isn't the type of signing Mike Ashley would allow. Saying that, a signing like this would add a tonne of credibility to that interview the owner did before the West Ham game on the final day of the Premier League season.
The rumour of a move to The Magpies has come about after Bacca's agent spoke to The Sun, claiming that his man is open to a move away from the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. Sergio Barila said: €œFirst of all we have to talk to Sevilla out of respect for the club. If the player is put on the market, there€™s a chance he will leave. €œCarlos would like to stay in Europe and next year Sevilla are in the Champions League which he€™s happy about because he wants to play in it. €œHe is fine here with his family but if there€™s a good opportunity for Bacca and Sevilla, we will take it into consideration. For now I cannot say if he€™ll leave or not, I must first consult with the directors.€ For all the latest NUFC News, Views and Transfers make sure to follow whatculture.com/NUFC on Twitter and Facebook.
