Newcastle Transfer News: Loic Remy On Loan - Latest

Chronicle. Sources at Loftus Road have hinted the Magpies are due to re-open discussions over a potential loan deal for Remy, having battled to sign the 26-year-old from Marseille in the January transfer window. Newcastle's new interest in the France international comes as they suffered a blow in their efforts to sign Gomis. Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is reportedly demanding that the North East club improve upon their offer of £6.9 million for the 27-year-old, and is also expecting a series of appearance-based instalments as part of the deal. But the Magpies are reluctant to pay over the odds and have balked at Aulas's valuation of a player whose contract expires at the end of the season. The situation could change however before the transfer window slams shut on September 2, with Gomis keen on a move to St James' Park, while Lyon are insisting he trains with the U-19 team if he returns to the Stade de Gerland. Newcastle also have a keen interest in Remy as well and came close to signing the forward six months ago, but missed out when he instead opted for a move to the Hoops.
