Newcastle Transfer News: Sissoko Deal Confirmed As Midfielder Leaves Toulouse

According to NUFC.com the 22 year-old opted to join United despite interest from QPR, Aston Villa and Olympique Marseille and this update suggests that Newcastle are now free to sign the player immediately, rather than signing a pre-contract agreement ahead of a summer move. They say that a fee of £2.5m has been speculated upon by the French press. The French midfielder's signing will come quickly after the double Gallic signings of Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Yoann Gourcuff who have joined from Montpellier and Bordeaux respectively in the last two days, as well as Mathieu Debuchy who joined the Magpies earlier in the window from Lille. Compatriot Massadio Haidara is also said to be close to a deal, according to NUFC.com.
