Source: The Sun Newcastles interest in French players is no secret to anyone as they went on a Gaelic spending spree in the January window, and another player who they could add to their list of French players is PSGs Mamadou Sakho. The mega rich Ligue 1 league leaders prefer to play Silva and Alex at centre back so French international Sakho has been frustrated with a lack of match action. With a place in Frances World Cup squad firmly in his sights he needs first team football to make sure he makes the cut for selection, and with Fabricio Coloccinni widely believed to be on his way out of the club this summer, Newcastle should be looking to get a centre back in. Sakho firmly fits the bill for Newcastle acquisitions: he is young at 22 but experienced with 12 caps already and he would be a great addition. Once more though Newcastle could face tough opposition from other Premier League teams including Liverpool and Arsenal.
