Newcastle Trialist "Not Offered Contract"

Dani Koks will not become an NUFC player.

Trialist Dani Koks has not been offered a contract with Newcastle United, according to The Chronicle. The former Ajax midfielder and Dutch youth-level international had been on trial on Tyneside for more than a month but is seems he has failed to impress enough to earn a deal. And that is despite netting both Newcastle Under-21s€™ goals during the Magpies€™ 2-1 victory over Utrecht last month. In July, Dutch De Telegraaf journalist Mike Verweij confirmed that the 17-year-old former Ajax midfielder was spending a week trial on Tyneside, and he scored during the Under-21s€™ 4-3 victory over Vitesse Arnhem as well. And the midfielder continued his rich form during the Magpies€™ second tour match in Holland, as he scored twice against Utrecht to give Newcastle U-21s a second victory in as many games. However, that did not prove enough for him to be offered a contract. Verweij also tweeted a photo of Koks - in which the youngster was pictured sitting underneath the Newcastle United emblem with his training kit in a sports bag in front of him - along with the following message (translated):
€œDano Koks (17) last season playing for #Ajax B1 is this week on trial #Newcastle @NUFC.€
