Newcastle United: 5 Major Positives From Aston Villa Win

4. Cisse Scoring Through The Middle

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBWPKnqdgGM Pappis Cisse€™s lack of goals this season has been a worry for The Magpies. Even more worrying has been his all round lack of form. With just four goals in the league before last night, Cisse€™s goal scoring form was a long way from the highs of last season which saw him grab thirteen goals in just fourteen matches. However last night saw Cisse back to what he does best, putting the ball in the back of the net. With Demba Ba taking all the goals and the spotlight, Cisse was often placed out of position on the right wing. This saw Cisse€™s form deteriorate and with the Senegalese frontman not putting the goals away from out wide it was a worry. Last night was a different story. Restored to his preferred role up front with two proper wingers in the form of Gouffran and Jonas, he thrived. His touch was brilliant, he held the ball up, made good bits of movement grabbed a great goal. Timing his run to perfection, where in recent months he probably would have managed to be offside he picked up Sissoko€™s pass and threaded it through Guzan€™s legs to the joy of the Toon Army. Newcastle will now be hoping their still much loved striker will be able to use this as the lift he needs to rediscover his proper goalscoring touch. In a relegation scrap having a proven goalscorer can go a long way and Newcastle will be hoping Cisse can pull them out of danger.
