NFL: 5 Quarterbacks Who Could Lose Their Starting Job

IFWT-Mark-Sanchez1 Every year we see teams go in a different direction at quarterback. Whether it€™s the fact that teams want a younger quarterback under center or maybe their current quarterback just isn't getting the job done. Even though the 2013 NFL season hasn't started yet, there are plenty of quarterbacks who are in danger of losing their job. With free agency and the NFL Draft in the books teams have added quarterbacks to their roster to compete for the starting job. This usually means that the franchise is uncomfortable with their quarterback situation and need to find an answer quickly. We will see new quarterbacks take on the responsibilities and we will see others take a seat on the bench or even get cut. So let€™s look at 5 quarterbacks who could lose their starting job in the 2013 season.

5. Carson Palmer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44w4c1IgxT4 It was hard to put Palmer on this list, not because I think he is a good quarterback, but the fact that there is no competition behind him. The Arizona Cardinals roster has Palmer, Brian Hoyer, Ryan Lindley, and Drew Stanton. The only guy I see competing with Palmer is Stanton because new head coach Bruce Arians seems to be pretty high on Stanton who is a 7 year vet. In my opinion, I think Palmer is done. I believe he doesn't have the arm strength or accuracy like he had in Cincinnati. He looks uncomfortable in the pocket and seems like he can€™t fire the ball in small spaces. Seeing him play in Oakland was a disaster and I think it€™ll be the same in Arizona. He€™ll be the day one starter, but look for Arians to pull the plug on him mid way through the season if he can€™t generate some wins. I will give him a chance though because he does have some targets to throw to like Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd. He€™ll also have a better defense to work with as well. However, I think Palmer doesn't have much left in the tank to make an instant impact for the Cardinals. This may be another long year for Cardinals fans, but hey look on the bright side, if the Cardinals tank this season they may be in play for Teddy Bridgewater in the 2014 NFL Draft who I think is the best overall prospect coming out next year.
