NFL Draft 2013: 5 Things I Learned

5659720291_6994e5da22 I've always considered myself somewhat of an amateur draft pundit. Time to put that fat bitch Peter King in his place. This past weekend saw the NFL conduct its annual meat market, where 254 potential future employees found their new homes. After months of prodding, prognostication and endless mock drafts, which are NEVER right, it all came to a prime time head in New York City. In 2013, the NFL draft is now a full on entertainment event, not just a sports/NFL aficionado's dirty dream, where the fantasy of the top player falling to his/her favorite team or a dream trade occurs. It's now on a Thursday night, lasts 3 days, has a red carpet, complete with fashionistas judging the top prospect's attire. The draft isn't just for die hard NFL fans now, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has turned into a media event, sucking every advertising dollar her can out if it and at the same time softening the league to ridiculous standards. But hey, I still watch. It's got more drama and intrigue than a season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and often just as many divas. There is just an air of optimism and freshness about the draft as each teams starts with a clean slate and a handful of shiny new toys to go into the upcoming season with. And of course, who can forget the uncomfortable shots of the last remaining prospects in the green room as ESPN zooms in on their weary faces and the red faced agents who promised them a higher draft spot. The winner and losers of this years draft was covered excellently here by fellow contributor Daniel Taylor, so there's no need to rehash who drafted who and what grade they got, however in Peter King style, here are 5 things I think I learned from this year's draft.

I am metal. I am so metal I ejaculate mercury. OK, love puppies, pro football and my daughter, so how's that for balance? I own a little metal blog called teethofthedivine.com and used to write for Metal Maniacs, Unrestrained magazines and currently help out with Hails and Horns and New Noise magazines. Yeah- I guess I am metal.
