Petr Cech Completes £11m Move To Arsenal From Chelsea

Arsene Wenger has secured his man...

Arsenal have completed the signing of Petr Cech from Chelsea for £11 million, according to The Daily Mail. The veteran 33-year-old goalkeeper asked for a transfer this summer after falling behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order last season and Blues boss Jose Mourinho has allowed him to move on. The Gunners had to hold off competition from both Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United to secure Cech's signature, but the 114-cap Czech Republic international stopper will ply his trade at the Emirates next season.
Cech's preference was to remain in the capital rather than move to Manchester or abroad and, due to the goalkeeper's loyal service to Chelsea, Mourinho and Blues owner Roman Abramovich were willing to sanction such a deal. David Ospina has already confirmed he is likely to move to Fenerbahce in order to accommodate Cech's arrival, while Wojciech Szczesny is likely to fight to remain Arsenal's number two. Three-times winner of the Golden Glove, Cech has been at Stamford Bridge since 2004 and amassed 485 appearances for Chelsea. As well as winning the Premier League on four occasions, Cech has also lifted four FA Cups, three League Cups, two FA Community Shields, the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Champions League during his time in west London. And Cech may not have to wait long to face his former club - with the Gunners and the Blues due to meet at Wembley in the Community Shield on August 2nd.
