The Rumour Mill

Chelsea could be lining up a £22m bid for unsettled Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric. According to the Sun, the Blues feel that he is the long-term replacement for Frank Lampard. QPR have made moves for West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie and Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila, according to the Daily Mail. It's understood that the Frenchman is holding out for a relegation release clause. Tom Ince's move to Liverpool could be hijacked by Swansea, say talkSPORT. The Welsh side has bid £7m for the young winger. The Metro says that following Taison's move to Shakhtar Donetsk, Tottenham could bid for Willian. The Ukrainian side are likely to hold out for at least £20m for the 24-year-old Brazillian. After Fabio Coloccini announced his desire to leave the club, talkSPORT believe that Newcastle are closing in on West Ham's James Tomkins. Also on his way out of West Ham is former Chelsea striker Carlton Cole, who the Daily Mirror believes is attracting interest from Reading and Norwich. The Mirror also believes that north-east rivals Newcastle and Sunderland are tracking Moussa Sissoko, currently of Toulouse. He could sign for either club for around £2.5m this window, or on a free in the summer.
