Ranking Every Newcastle Third Kit In History

Some of the most pointless shirts in the club's history...

Newcastle United have this morning confirmed this will be their third kit for the upcoming 2015/16 season. The release is a little more interesting than it should be due to the goings on of a couple of days ago. On Tuesday, official confirmation of one of United€™s change kits for next season seemed to appear on Puma€™s American website. The shirt, which is listed at a whopping $90 (£57.59), was described as being United€™s €œCup Replica Jersey€, which of course means it will be worn no more than twice next season when a weakened Magpies side tumble out of the Capital One and FA Cups at the first hurdle€ To you and me it€™s a navy shirt with a rascal-looking pink and white sash completely obliterated by a giant Wonga logo (why don€™t we have the current version again?), but Puma insist on calling the colour scheme €œpeacoat, bright plasma and white.€ As with all modern day shirts it is 100% polyester and features €œdryCELL designation for moisture-wicking properties that help keep you dry and comfortable.€ With the American website calling it the Cup Jersey, and the club officially releasing it as their third kit, what does that mean for The Magpies' aspirations in the cups next season? Given the way the summer has kicked off, the signs aren't looking good. Here's where the new shirt fits in a list of every third shirt in Newcastle United history...
