Rating Man Utd’s 6 Summer Signings

After a slow start, United made some big, big deals.

The summer transfer window officially closed for business one week ago today and Manchester United were the most profligate of the 20 Premier League teams, spending a whopping £150 million on new players as manager Louis van Gaal aims to stop the rot. United finished seventh in 2013-14 under now-former manager David Moyes, missing out on European football altogether, and his successor is hoping to buy his way back to the top with the kind of spending usually seen at the likes of Chelsea and €˜noisy neighbours€™ City. The sheer amount of money forked out by the Red Devils serves as a statement of intent with the new season already underway and fans will be hoping the new charges will hit the ground running, as United have made a difficult start to this campaign as well, picking up two points from a possible nine and losing their opening game of the season to Swansea City. Six new players were brought in by van Gaal as the Dutchman attempts to get the famous club back on track, but just how well did he and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward fare in the summer market, and will the new recruits be a hit at Old Trafford? Here, we attempt to answer those questions as we rate Man Utd€™s 6 Summer Signings.
