For every neutral fan, Real Madrid v Manchester City is the game everyone is talking about this week. The reigning Spanish champions locking horns with the English champions. It has got classic written all over it.
Timing will be key tonight, with Real Madrid starting this season very poorly. They already trail their great rivals Barcelona by 8 points and they just cannot seem to get going. Shadowed by the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t happy, Madrid have looked a shadow of themselves from last season. I am not suggesting them to be a one man team, but it seems that the upset of Ronaldo has spread throughout the whole squad.
However, you know what they say, teams can produce their best football when teams underestimate them. Obviously, Manchester City would be fools to underestimate such a powerhouse. David Silva has already said that Manchester City may “unleash the beast inside them” when he was questioned about Real Madrid, and I have to agree with him. Real Madrid clearly need something to kick start their season and tonight might just be the night.
Taking everything into account, and thinking about Manchester City on their travels last season, I cannot look any further that a Real Madrid win. However, if Manchester City start quick and get the first goal, the dent it will cause in Real Madrid’s confidence, it might just be enough to come away with all 3 points. My advice to you all is, tune into ITV1 from 7.45pm onwards and let the game commence.
