Remy Cabella's Newcastle Career In 15 Photos

Some highlights - and a lot of low points - from Cabella's time on Tyneside.

Remy Cabella signed for Newcastle United from Montpellier for a fee somewhere in the region of £12 million last summer to much fanfare having scored 14 goals in 37 Ligue 1 games for the French side the previous season, yet he departs St James' Park after netting just once in 34 appearances in black and white. Cabella has moved to Marseille, initially on a season-long loan, which will turn into a permanent deal automatically if certain conditions are met - meaning he has almost certainly played his final match for the Magpies. Florian Thauvin, a player Newcastle€™s chief scout Graham Carr has courted for years, will take Cabella€™s place in the Magpies squad, with Steve McClaren seemingly having decided that he would prefer a more direct winger to supply fellow summer signing Aleksandar Mitrovic, rather than a playmaker. Cabella displayed flashes of brilliance during his time at Newcastle - including a magnificent goal at Hull City and promising displays against Chelsea and Arsenal - but all-too fleetingly. The four-cap France international has also been accused of being too lightweight, and of failing to make an impact. Although the majority of his 13 months at the club were disappointing, there were a few highs - and unfortunately a lot of lows - for the four-cap France international playmaker. So here WhatCulture.com/NUFC run through 15 pictures that show the highlights (and low points) from Remy Cabella's short Newcastle United career...
