Royal Ascot 2013 Coronation Stakes Betting Tips & Odds

Friday€™s feature race is the equivalent of the St. James€™s Palace for the fillies the Coronation Stakes. Whether the race will produce a finish as pulsating as the colts€™ version on Tuesday remains to be seen, but as a rematch between the 1st and 2nd from the 1000 Guineas a great race is surely in prospect. Just The Judge (7/2 at Paddy Power) was second at Newmarket before going one better and taking the Irish 1000 Guineas at The Curragh last month. She is unbeaten other than her Newmarket defeat and the only horse to ever finish in front of her is her 1000 Guineas conqueror Sky Lantern (4/1). Sky Lantern has been a picture of consistency in her short career to date and at a bigger price than Just The Judge looks to be the value pick of the two classic winners. However both are short in what looks a competitive little heat, and although both are proven performers at this level I€™d personally be tempted to look for something that offers a bit of each-way value. Big Break (13/2) had a big reputation over the winter but after a setback missed Newmarket, for which she was well fancied, before running creditably in the Irish Guineas. She will surely be fitter for that run and is trained by Dermot Weld, a man who knows how to get his horses cherry ripe for big days such as this and she could run a big race. In the same ownership as Big Break is Sir Michael Stoute€™s twice-raced Pavlovsk (8/1), a filly that remains unbeaten but will need a major step up here in extremely hot company having never contested a Group race before. The horse I like from an each-way perspective though is Rehn€™s Nest (16/1), she was a 1 ½ length second to Just The Judge in The Irish 1000 Guineas and has that Jim Bolger toughness that all his horses are ingrained with. Rehn€™s Nest is well bred, proven at this level now and although she will need to improve again, she looks capable of further progression and looks a nice price for a place. Selection: Rehn€™s Nest each-way @ 16/1
