Southampton's new manager Mauricio Pochettino could hand a Premier League debut to defender Vegard Forren, who has just signed from Molde. Top goalscorer Ricky Lambert could start after coming off the bench against Chelsea to score in the 2-2 draw, while Adam Lallana will face a late fitness test on his knee injury. Everton will be hoping to welcome back defender Jonny Heitinga after a two-game absence, but Kevin Mirallas is not expected to be risked after sitting out the last two months with a hamstring complaint.
Match Preview
All eyes will be keenly fixed on new Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino, who takes charge of his first Saints game after the sacking of predecessor Nigel Adkins last week. The Argentine
admitted recently that he faces a challenge to win over the club's fans but he could hit the ground running with that tonight by edging Southampton further away from the relegation zone with a win. Everton manager David Moyes will have other ideas on his mind however - a win for the Toffees tonight would move them just a point behind fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur, giving them a palpable whiff of Champions League football next season. They will have a battle on their hands though; Everton have only won two of their 13 visits to Southampton in the Premier League.
