Southampton's Adam Lallana And Jay Rodriguez Named In England Squad For November Friendlies

Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana and forward Jay Rodriguez have been rewarded for their club's excellent start to the Premier League season with England call-ups. Under Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino the Saints sit sixth in the top flight level on points with Manchester City. Uncapped pair Lallana and Rodriguez join St Marys teammate Rickie Lambert in Roy Hodgson's squad for the friendlies with Chile and Germany. Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson earns a recall and right back Glen Johnson returns. Arsenal's Jack Wilshere has also been included despite an ankle injury. Gunners pair Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remain sidelined. Hodgson has selected three left backs for the Wembley dates in Leighton Baines (Everton), Ashley Cole (Chelsea) and Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal). Raheem Sterling drops down onto the Under-21 roster.
