Spurs: 5 Reasons Tim Sherwood's Appointment Might Actually Work

I think it€™s fair to say that the appointment of Tim Sherwood as Spurs€™ new manager came as a bit of a shock to a lot of us, even if he was favourite to be their new manager. Nevertheless, after getting rid of Andre Villas-Boas it might have been expected for them to go for someone with a reputation. Most of us that are old enough remember Sherwood as a player, and he was certainly one of better midfielders that this country has produced €“ but we know very little of his coaching or managerial abilities. There is no doubt that Spurs are taking a big risk by appointing a man with no prior managerial experience, but this slideshow is all about being positive. I€™m hoping to show the positives behind the appointment and why it can work for Spurs. Sherwood has certainly been thrown in the deep end, and it will be interesting to see how he copes with that. At the moment, the players will be out to impress their new manager €“ but when that wears off €“ it will be interesting to see how well Sherwood can motivate his men. I€™m also assuming he will get some opportunity to bring his own players in during January, so let€™s get stuck in€
