Spurs News: Kyle Walker Undergoes Abdominal Surgery

The England right back could be out for a while yet.

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have announced that first choice right back Kyle Walker has undergone abdominal surgery. The announcement was posted on the official club website with the following short message:
Kyle Walker has undergone lower abdominal surgery. The England right-back's pre-season preparations were disrupted by the abdominal injury and the decision to have surgery was taken following further medical assessment by specialists.
Walker, who missed the end of last season and the World Cup with a pelvic injury and has already been out for five months, posted a photo of himself on his Instagram account (see below) with the short caption "On the road to recovery after surgery".
So far this season, both Walker's former Sheffield United team-mate Kyle Naughton and Spurs' newcomer Eric Dier have filled in at right back and it looks as though both players will get more opportunities to do so, as Spurs look to complete in the Premier League, the domestic cups and the Europa League in Walker's absence - which could be for several more weeks or even months. Walker has made 102 Premier League appearances for Spurs in his five years at White Hart Lane and has earned 10 England caps to date since his debut in 2011.
