Spurs Poll: Would Welbeck Be A Welcome Signing?

Would the Manchester United man be a good signing for the White Hart Lane club?

Manchester United and England forward Danny Welbeck has supposedly been deemed surplus to requirements by new Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal. Subsequently, he has been linked with a move to a number of Premier League clubs - including North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal - and he is said to be keen on a move to Spurs, where he would be more likely to get regular first team football. Welbeck, who was left out of United's opening league game against Swansea City and who came on as a substitute in their second game at Sunderland, has 20 goals in 91 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils - with 53 of those appearances coming from the start - and 8 goals in 26 caps for England. Spurs could certainly do with more players capable of playing up front, as they currently only have Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane as senior strikers on their books, and most of the big clubs have four strikers in order to compete on all fronts. With Spurs being in the Europa League and hoping to challenge for a place in the Premier League's top four this season, Welbeck could give them that extra competition and an extra option up top to help them achieve that. But what do Spurs fans think of the Lilywhites potentially signing Welbeck? Is he the man to give them the depth required up front to step up a level and seriously compete in all competitions this season?
