Spurs Transfer News: Gareth Bale £95 Million & Players Offer From Madrid

The Sun. The offer from the Spanish giants will break down as; £51 million in cash plus the exchange of £25 million rated winger Angel Di Maria and £19 million rated left-back Fabio Coentrao. This cash plus player exchange deal comes after Madrid made a £81 million world record offer for the skilful Welshman that the White Hart Lane club rejected. The bid was £1 million more than the world record deal that saw Cristiano Ronaldo move from Manchester United to Real Madrid in 2009 and shows the intent from Bernabeu president Florentino Perez to make Bale his latest Galactico. The huge offer from Madrid is increasing the pressure on Spurs chairman Daniel Levy who so far has managed to hold firm and insist that Bale is not for sale. However, the 24-year-old is believed to have told Levy this week that he does want to move to Madrid, though he hasn't gone so far as putting in a transfer request. Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is said to be interested in Argentine winger Di Maria, only 25 himself, who would prove a good replacement for Bale. Meanwhile the acquisition of Coentrao, 25, would also be welcomed as the Portuguese boss looks ready to ship out current left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto.
