Spurs Transfer News: Real Madrid Want To Sign Gareth Bale This Summer?

Daily Star. The Welshman has been offered a new deal to stay at White Hart Lane worth around £150,000-per-week, but it is believed that contract includes a clause that allows the midfielder to leave if an offer of £50 million is received. Madrid are one of only a few clubs in Europe who could afford that fee, and club president Florentino Perez is even prepared to make a move for the player this summer. Real would be willing to match the wages Bale picks up in North London, and would also offer him lucrative image rights in the deal which would earn him even more millions. However, the Spanish giants are not prepared to pay more than £43 million for the star, which falls well short of Spurs' valuation of the double Player of the Year. They are however willing to offer Tottenham four players as part of the deal, which is thought to include Pepe, Marcello, Angel di Maria and Gonzalo Higuain. Of that quartet, the only player Spurs are interested in is Argentine striker Higuain, but he is not willing to move to a club who are not playing Champions League football. But that will not deter Real, who are still hopeful of landing yet another of Spurs' star players following last year's capturing of Luka Modric.
