Spurs Transfer News: Tottenham Target "Contract Rebel" Leon Osman?

Osman Tottenham are ready to make a move for Everton's contract rebel Leon Osman, according to the Metro. The 31-year old has two years left on his current deal at Goodison Park but talks of an extension have broken down, and the Englishman has broken off talks with the Toffees. Andre Villas-Boas is desperate to add a central midfielder to his ranks in the summer having appeared to have missed out on long-term target Joao Moutinho, and Osman has emerged as his top priority. He has a proven record in the Premier League and numerous impressive performances this season have yielded two England caps in recent months, but it is understood he is growing disillusioned with life at Everton and longs for a change of scenery. Osman has been offered fresh terms and a one year extension to his deal at Goodison Park, but doubts over David Moyes' long-term future and ambition to play in the Champions League have led to contract talks flat-lining. Spurs are understood to be willing to offer £6 million for the want-away star at the end of the season, and they could also throw fringe players into the deal as part of their efforts to clear-out their squad of deadwood ahead of the next season. Heurelho Gomes, Danny Rose, David Bentley, Iago Falque and Andros Townsend will all be told to find new clubs, and Emmanuel Adebayor, who missed a crucial penalty in last night's Europa League loss to Basel, is expected to be sold.
