Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have endured a very turbulent and underwhelming season in 2013/14 and, having spent an awful lot of money last summer, that has been particularly disappointing. They're currently out of all of the cup competitions they were entered in (the FA Cup, the League Cup and the Europa League) and lie in sixth position in the Premier League - eight points off a Champions League position and in severe danger of being caught by seventh place Manchester United. As a result, there are calls for a number of players to be sold and replaced. However, in some cases, that notion is extremely hasty. A particular group of players, numbering around eight or nine, have been targeted for scrutiny. Some of them definitely do need to be sold, as they simply aren't good enough, but it's a mixed bag overall.
