Spurs Transfers: 5 January Signings For Tim Sherwood

Tottenham yesterday announced the managerial appointment of Tim Sherwood on a full-time basis following the dismissal earlier this month of Andre Villas-Boas. The ex-Spurs midfielder has been handed a contract until the end of next season and will take charge of first team duties with immediate effect. Sherwood had previously held the position of technical co-ordinator at White Hart Lane and looked after the London club on a caretaker basis following Villas-Boas's sacking, having served as a member of the club's coaching staff since 2008. And now, the 44-year-old has been handed the reins at Tottenham, and will attempt to steer the Lilywhites back on track following a disastrous sequence of results which saw AVB axed. To help him do that, Sherwood may use the upcoming January transfer window to stamp his own imprint on Spurs and clear out some of the deadwood inherited from his predecessor's era. Over £100 million was spent on new players under Villas-Boas' watch this summer, but how many of them will fit into Sherwood's system, and will the new man in charge look to bring in new additions? Upon being handed the caretaker job, Sherwood queried ahead of next month's transfer window:
"What are we looking to do? Are we looking to buy players or are we looking to bring them through?"
The new boss has got some big decisions to make and here, we take a look at 5 Signings To Help Tim Sherwood Make Tottenham His Own.
