Spurs Transfers: Cash Plus Player Guarin Bid Rejected By Inter

Soldado and £9.5 million doesn't impress the Italian side.

According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Serie A giants Inter Milan have rejected a player plus cash bid from Tottenham Hotspur for Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin. Spurs are said to have offered ‚12 million (£9.5 million) and Spanish striker Roberto Soldado - who has been linked to Inter in recent months - in an attempt to capture the former Porto playmaker, who joined Inter in 2012, but the San Siro club are said to be holding out for £14 million in cash, as we stated was their valuation yesterday. Guarin is almost certain to leave Inter this summer, after nearly doing so in January and being made surplus to requirements at the club - they are considering leaving him out of their Europa League squad completely - and the likes Juventus, Manchester United, Rubin Kazan, Dynamo Moscow and Wolfsburg have also been credited with an interest in signing the player. Soldado will have been hoping to impress at Spurs this season, after signing for £26 million from Valencia last summer and disappointing in his first campaign at the club, but Mauricio Pochettino obviously hasn't been overly impressed with what he's seen of the striker in pre-season games and during training and the likes of Loic Remy and Wilfried Bony remain linked with moves to White Hart Lane. What do you think of this story? Should Spurs be targeting Fredy Guarin? Should Roberto Soldado be given a chance to shine after a disappointing first season at White Hart Lane?
