Spurs Transfers: Pochettino Plans £17 Million Morgan Schneiderlin Bid

Ex-Saints boss still determined to land his former midfielder.

According to Goal, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is still determined to land his former Southampton midfield enforcer Morgan Schneiderlin. The French international midfielder excelled under the Argentinian and, despite wanting to trim his squad and despite having an abundance of central players, it is still believed that Pochettino is willing to part with £17 million to land his man - though Southampton still insist he isn't for sale. Earlier this summer, after Schneiderlin had handed in a transfer list at the St. Mary's Stadium, he took to Twitter to announce his dissatisfaction at the fact it was rejected (see below).
However, he has obviously made up with the club to some extent as he found himself in the Saints' starting line-up and played the full game as Ronald Koeman's side started their season with a 2-1 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday - indeed nearly equalising towards the end as his close-range shot was tipped on to the crossbar by Reds' goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. Schneiderlin has scored 10 goals in 232 competitive appearances since joining Southampton from Strasbourg in June of 2008 and he has become one of the most accomplished holding midfielders in England in that time. He has since earned two French caps. Do you think Schneiderlin would be a good signing for Spurs? Should Southampton let him go if an offer of £17 million is indeed made?
