Erik Lamela has been tipped with a January exit from Tottenham Hotspur, less than six months after he arrived at the London club. A club-record £30 million buy when he arrived from AS Roma last summer, Lamela is now set to quit Spurs after failing to adapt to the English game. It was hoped the attacking midfielder would help fill the void left by Gareth Bale in the wake of the Welshman's move to Real Madrid, yet he has managed just three Premier League starts to date. The Argentinian has made 10 appearances in all, with his one goal for the season so far coming against lowly Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League. And, with his form wavering, Lamela feels he needs a Spurs exit in order to salvage his World Cup dream, with the tournament now less than six months away and time to impress running out.
