The Nigerian winger will hope to enjoy greater form and more regular playing time than at Liverpool, where he was loaned for the entirety of the 2013/14 season. Moses joined Chelsea in 2012/13 for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £9m (inclusive of add-ons) and scored a solid total of ten goals in forty-three appearances in his debut season, albeit managing only one in the Premier League. His place in the team was put under threat the following year by the signings of Andre Schurrle and Willian. Moving to Liverpool, he struggled for goals and appearances, scoring only twice in twenty-two outings, many of which were as a substitute. Nevertheless, he started all four of Nigeria's games at the 2014 World Cup, putting in respectable if unspectacular performances. When confident, his speed and directness can be deadly and if Mark Hughes can inspire him back to his best form, an attacking trio of Moses alongside newcomers Bojan Krkic and Mame Diouf could give the Potters a little attacking flair to go alongside their tranditional defensive solidity. Moses becomes the sixteenth player to be loaned out of Stamford Bridge this season, following the recent departures of Christian Atsu to Everton and 19-year old Croatian striker Stipe Perica's return to Dutch side NAC Breda, where he scored six goals on loan last season.
