Strikeforce Cancels November 3rd Card

In a move almost everyone saw coming, Strikeforce have cancelled the November 3rd show in Oklahoma City. The card was to feature Heavyweight Grand Prix Champion Daniel Cormier's last fight in the company before moving on to the UFC. The show was cancelled due to injuries to main event fighter Frank Mir and co-main event and Middleweight champion Luke Rockhold. Strikeforce released the following statement in a press release: €œDue to a series of injuries, we were forced to cancel the upcoming card on Nov. 3, but are already working to put together a stacked card in January,€ STRIKEFORCE CEO Scott Coker said. €œWhile we're disappointed with the cancellation, we are looking forward to an even bigger STRIKEFORCE event on SHOWTIME early next year,€ said Stephen Espinoza, Executive Vice President & General Manager, SHOWTIME Sports® " This is the second Strikeforce show in a row that has been cancelled, and the third Zuffa card cancelled in the last two months. The last Strikeforce event was to feature Lightweight Champion Gilbert Melendez and was cancelled due to his injury by Strikeforce after the Showtime network decided that a Melendez free card wasn't worth airing. So does anyone believe the next card will be "stacked"? Or are the rumors true about the end being near for Strikeforce? Time will tell. All I know for sure is that I have a refund to get.
